Sugar Skull Inspiration

Dorian Weiss of Lake Worth, FL told us: “I made these around Halloween. A dollar store had these styrofoam heads that looked like sugar skulls and I got the idea to paint them and ornament them with ribbons, studs, flowers, trinkets, and charms.

Artist Alinne Tattoo wrote: “A skull stone I painted to hold the door because of the wind.”

Cane C says:

I am always impressed by the cohesiveness of the art of sugar skulls. Thousands of different artists explore this genre of art and they always seem to hit the archetype never leaving a question about what image they are trying to capture. Thank you both for submitting your work for us to share and adding to keeping this genre current.
