Shimmering Skulls

Our weekend starts off with a dazzling display of glitz and brilliance.  All around artist Elspeth was inspired by a well known Damien Hurst skull to recreate this life size skull of studded beauty. She writes,  "My skull is not real and adorned with platinum and diamonds, however, it does contain over 5000 diamonites, all put on individually by hand with tweezers, with an inverted cross on the forehead. The skull took me over 20 hours to complete, and a whole lot of patience!" (p.s.- I also totally dig that ruler mat, or whatever it is)

And Ron Campbell of Kennewick, WA is stayin' alive with his Mirror Ball Skull in full action(originally posted here).  Ron's proving that disco isn't dead, it's just trapped inside your skull waiting for a glamorous light show to reveal it's self.

As the saying goes, "Good things come to those who wait". Patience has a lot to do with creating art, and the end results are almost always worth the wait. Thanks to both of you for sharing your time and art with us.  Now let's BOOGIE!!!
