Skull Studded Jacket

Masayoshi Yoshino collaborated with leather artist Robert Warner, to create this jacket. Masayoshi made all the studs and buttons, totaling about 700 skulls. Robert is known for making custom leather jackets for rock stars. I love the texture all the skull studs and buttons great. Each one is finely detailed. It does remind me of the stacks of skulls in catacombs. You can see more photos of the jacket, here. I spied some other skull adornments on Masayoshi's Pinterest.

[CONTEST] Win a Tiny Mermaid Skeleton Deluxe Kit from Tinysaur

THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED. Thanks for participating.

Tinysaur makes tiny skeletons for you to assemble. When they are completed, they are only about 1-2 inches tall! Recently they created a Tiny Mermaid Deluxe Kit, which includes everything you'll need to make and display the finished mermaid skeleton. They are giving away one of these kits to one lucky Skull-A-Day fan!

PRIZE INFO: Tiny Mermaid all-in-one kit. Everything you need is in the box: tweezers, glue, display case, magnifier, and, of course, the mermaid bones.

A tiny mermaid skeleton kit that assembles into a 2" tall sea nymph. There are two versions of shoulder blade bones included so you can pose her diving, swimming, or treading water.
Tinysaur Kits assemble into tiny skeletons from a postage stamp sized laser cut pattern. Assembly generally takes 30-45 minutes and the completed mermaid models stand roughly 2 inches tall.

Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Skull Cake

Brian, Lindsey, and Loren Miller created this skull cake. I've been in the mood for lots of sweets. I'm sure this colorful icing rich cake would satisfy that craving. It would be perfect for a Dia de los Muertos celebration.

"Beauty in Darkness" Skulls

You might recall that a few months back, Tim Tindall, shared his painting "Beauty in Darkness". Since then, he's reworked the painting, adding more depth to the skulls and foliage. As an artist, I totally understand going back to a piece and redoing parts of it. Often I stare at a piece for days, to the point of being dissatisfied with it, even though others like it. It's a classic issue for artists to deal with. Thankfully, if you walk away from it, you can often go back and resolve your personal problems with it. I love both versions of the painting, but the darker one does have great depth.

Crocheted Pendant Skull

This baroque crocheted skull is brought to us by Espe Cialidades. This "pendant" looks like it could have been the emblem of a great and powerful Barbarian or an all powerful evil wizard. The look on the skull definitely bodes danger. Thanks for the submission, Espe!
