[BONUS] Scooter Skull Update

Bill Dickinson (Sky Noir) took a photo of Noah's now rusted Scooter Skull hanging outside of Scoot Richmond. The original skull cut into a rusted out scooter body back in 2008. Looks like over the years it's become gruesome with additional rust. Thanks for providing us with an updated photo Bill!

For comparison, here is Noah's Scooter Skull, before 6 years of rust.

[BONUS] Pumpkin Anatomy II: Update 6

Jeff Calvert in Westerville, Ohio did an excellent job using my directions to make a jack-o-lantern with a brain!...

And here's the final state of the original....
It made it through Halloween, but only just barely!

Did you make one of your own or even a unique skull-y pumpkin of your own design? Please send a photo and we'll share it on the site!

If you remember in October, we had a contest to win a custom Rachael Rossman Dia de los Muertos Portrait. Jayne Capps, is winner, and she recently contacted me to show me to portrait of her. I like updating you all with winner info, when it's a photo of the winner with the item, or in this case, a portrait of the winner. Here is the custom portrait, and below it is the before photo, which Rachael used to make the portrait.

[BONUS UPDATE] The Ongoing Saga of #350 Graffiti Skull

I was eating lunch the other day at a local sandwich shop, which just happens to be next door to where I painted my Graffiti Skull, and the owner asked if I'd taken a look at the piece lately. I hadn't so I strolled around the corner and discovered that the Virginia Creeper has continued to overtake it in such a lovely way. The bonus is that it dies back each winter and so the piece is entirely revealed again before getting covered over in the spring/summer once more.

You can see how it looked a year ago HERE.

[UPDATE] 374. Snow (Day) Skull: MELTDOWN

I've been documenting the demise of the snow skull that I made with my friend Paul from DudeCraft. Generally snow doesn't last very long in Richmond and it almost never comes this early in the season, so it wasn't a big surprise that it's almost entirely gone in just over a week, though I was impressed how long it retained its original shape despite several days of intense sun.

Two days old...

Four days old...

Six days old...

Seven days old, after a major rain storm came through town...

Nine days old...

I'm guessing there won't be much of anything to photograph in two more days. It was fun while it lasted! FYI the original post, with "making of" photos can be found HERE.
