38. Quoth the Skull...

Hand cut paper. I recently did a cut paper illustration for a friend and while the process is rather tedious the results are pretty satisfying. When the idea for today's image popped into my head I decided it was the right medium for it.

UPDATE: OK, you asked for it, here's a PDF version of this art for you to play with. As with everything on this site the image is provided under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License. and of course I expect a picture of whatever you do (especially if you get a tattoo!).

  5. Even Melville was inspired by Poe.

    Chapter X
"Shall I ever forget the triple horror of that spectacle?"

*** I immediately thought of this when I saw today's entry-

  6. wow. I make stuff out of everyday objects also, but to limit the subject to one thing? That's crazy talk. I think I'd go insane(er) if I did that for more than 2 weeks!

    Good work!

  16. This will look good on a greeting card. I have downloaded the pdf but haven't checked the size. If the papercut is large I can always put it in a frame.

  18. That's great looking! I tried to do one myself tonight. I'm thinking of personalizing this a little bit more for a Halloween card.

As yo can see here, it turned out alright except for the letters:
