1 piece of cut & folded 24 gauge sheet steel (folded size approx 6" x 9" x 4"). An extra huge thanks goes to Philip who let me use his workshop and materials, gave advice on how to accomplish this piece, and welded the seams for me!
That's totally cool -- I really like the roughness of it. But there's no way that steel is 4" thick if it's only 6" across. What does that last measurement mean?
To clarify that's the folded size, so the 4" refers to the depth of the piece not the thickness of the metal which is 24 gauge (or about .0239”, pretty thin, but easier for a novice metal worker like me to start with).
No offers to buy it yet, but I think I might hold on to everything until the project is over and then have a big exhibition somewhere (any gallery owners reading this?!?).
Oh wow! That needs to be mounted in front of a headlight of a Harley... or make another and puth them on the front of a `49 Merc.

it's danger-skull - - it looks so mean - makes me feel all oogie like some folks do about skulls...
ReplyDeletehmmm
It looks kind of like a helm. Like it would be right at home lying blood-spattered on a battle field.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Maybe I should trade in my sewing machine for a welder. :D
This one is exceptionally cool. Offers to buy it yet? Outstanding. I also love mr. goldglitter pasta skull, but in a much warm fuzzier way. :D
