They do! The whole point of the dish is that in contains four different types of meat. Although in a modern chinese setting it should probably only be three types of meat.
They are so cool! I've never seen a "Happy Family" dish in a Chinese restaurant, but I could just be missing it.
What are the four types of meat? Chicken, pork, beef, and lamb?
In Australia we don't even get those awesome containers. You can buy them at craft stores for gifts (the last wedding I went to we received pretty red ones filled with a mix of Australian chocolates and lollies and American "candy" to celebrate an Australian-American union). The take-away containers are just rectangular plastic things, but they are reusable and recyclable. :)

ReplyDeleteCute! I'd buy Chinese food in skulls... Now if only there were a way to keep thigns from coming out the mouth and eyes and nose... ;)

ReplyDeletehaha i love chinese-food-container-skulls
ReplyDeleteThe dish that contains the four different types of meat at the Chinese place near me is called "Triple Crown". Go figure.
ReplyDeleteThe "Happy Family" has mostly snowpeas and chicken, and those scary looking mushrooms.
No skull boxes, either!
Sitting here in Queens eating refried beans....
ReplyDelete1) I love how the rice looks like maggots crawling in the skull.
2) When you reheat it does it become a happy nuclear family?
3) If you draw the features on, it would make a great favor box.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if the local Chinese restaurants carry "Happy Family" or not but one of them does offer "Ho Fun."
