285. Oil Paint Skull

Oil Paint on Panel, Wet (6in x 6in [15.24cm x 15.24cm]). I haven't done an oil painting since I was a kid. I can see why so many people like to do a painting a day, it was incredibly satisfying! I think I may have to do more before the year is up.

  1. Gorgeous! I love the use of color and the brush strokes! Maybe you could be talked into a Painting A Day site for a year?

  4. This is one of my very favorite pieces you have done, but I keep saying that when a new one comes up. You are the most amazing, talented artist! You remind me of the artist Tim Matthieson, whose works I saw at the Los Angeles County Museum - so inventive and versatile. I think I double what pcp said - I would like to continue to follow your work after this project. Peace and many blessings, Annie

  5. Yes, oil paint is so satisfying. Didn't you feel like, let's see, maybe Rembrandt? Love this one.

  6. Lovely shades- almost looks a bit... meaty? :/ ::gulp::
Very creepy, and intense. Nice work! (i am terrible with paint of any kind, so i can extra-appreciate this.) Keep it up!

  7. When I first saw this I thought it might be huge! Then read that it was 6x6 inches!!! I could see this at 6x6 feet taking up a wall in my house.

  8. It does sort of have a .. sticky feel to it. Reminds me of The Skull Beneath The Skin.
