Hey folks here's a first sneak preview of the cover of my upcoming book (as well as a few details):
"Skulls" is scheduled for a U.S. nationwide October 1st, 2008 release. The book is 7in x 7in and 180 pages long and will feature a selection of images from the Skull-A-Day project (as well as some DIY projects and fan stuff). It is being published by the fine folks at Lark Books and will be stocked in the craft section of bookstores.
Amazingly you can actually already pre-order copies at Amazon.com, though if you have a locally owned, independent bookstore in your area I encourage you to buy it from them if possible! I'll be working on doing some signings when it comes out, so keep watching here for more details.
Congratulations. The book looks great. I'm off to pre-order a copy (no mom & pop bookstores here - are there any left in the US??)
ReplyDeleteOh, just " a selection of skulls" ?
ReplyDeleteAre you sure The 365 skulls won't be in the book, only a few ones ?
:{
I must say i'm pretty disapointed, this book is probably good but i don't understand the point of the book if this is not to present and to offer documentation about the whole project...
(sorry for bad english - french reader).
13 days before my birthday!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That's two blogs that I frequent that have published works now :)
ReplyDeleteThis totally rocks.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait!
Beck
...and you said that my skull(The Typewriter Skull) is featured in the book, Noah?
ReplyDeleteGotta order a copy.
This looks slick. I'll be excited to get one.
ReplyDeleteDo you think you'll have a book signing or release party (or final gallery show?)
Killer! I can't wait to get it. It will be a bright moment at the start of another dreary fall.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection for the cover, Noah. Looking forward to seeing it on the shelves!
ReplyDeletecongrats!
ReplyDeletepretty cool news.
just in time for Halloween.
Thanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteKrysalia: It's quite possible that if this volume sells well there'll be a second book with the remainder of the skulls in it! Also European editions could be different.
Tim: Yes, definitely planning on all of those things! I'll post the details as I have them.
man, excellent. I'm very happy. I really like the cover picture. Is it the definitive one ?
ReplyDeleteJe suis fier de toi.
Djouls: Oui! Merci!
ReplyDeleteALR> thanks for your answer :). I hope that it will sell a lot, because i love this project which i think is really smart and neatly executed.
ReplyDeletethe thing is, i would have love to have a huge coffe table book " one year of skulls ", showing every skulls, some pictures about the making of, some funny facts and stories about this whole year, whith large and détailed reproductions of your skull pictures. When i am ordering this book, i'll think i'll be frustrated not to find the whole stuff and i think i won't be alone to feel that way. => Let's hope that this frustration will lead to the edition another book, yes :D
Actually I would have thought Taschen or Könneman (worldwide editors) would have jump on the opportunity to produce a book with this great work.

ReplyDeleteAs your biggest fan, I hope you reserved the dedications or "one for the road" final thought page for me.
C: I guess you'll just have to wait and C!
ReplyDeleteUh oh. Two kittys. Mrear mrear! ppppffft!
ReplyDeleteNoah, is there a possibility of a second edition, even if it's through another publisher, of having an all-in-one book like krysalia suggests? I would dearly love a coffee table type book of your skulls, too.
And for the third edition I'd like a 1x1 ft book to put on my night table. If it's possible of course. ;) And in French of course. Or Turkish.
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for the edition that can fly and has magic healing powers ; )
