After some careful dissection I discovered what the inside of a Jack-O'-Lantern really looks like!...
HAPPY (almost) HALLOWEEN everyone, I hope you have tons of spooky fun this holiday season. And of course if you make your own skull-y pumpkins definitely send us a picture!
very, very cool! :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWell played! Very cool. There's a Mask-O-Lantern coming to MASK365 later this week.
ReplyDeleteIt's like that's the Jack-O-Lantern's Skull.........Jack Skellington! LOL!
ReplyDeleteClever! I love this one!
ReplyDeleteThe jack o lantern was supposed to represent a skull, anyway, so it fits!
this is sooooo cool! I love it!
ReplyDeletePerfect!
ReplyDeletei swear this is in the 'goodstead' shop on rose street, Edinburgh. or an exact, very well made replica.
ReplyDeleteWow, send a picture if you can AJ, I'd be interested to see it!
ReplyDeleteI'll certainly try for you Noah.

Hey dude this is very cool! I don't suppose you could create a PDF or directions on how someone else (aka me - and I'm sure a few other people) could do this?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I'll see what I can do, I wish I had actually taken some process pictures, which would've made it a lot easier, but maybe I can find a way to do it with illustrations...
ReplyDeleteHey Noah - love this! Thanks a lot for posting! I'm trying to make a copy for this Halloween... Hope you don't mind me asking: Did you use a whole pumpkin for the skull part? And if so, did you then have to cut the orange pumpkin in half and then put it back together so you could fit the whole skull in? Or... did you cut the skull piece into a kind of mask or faceplate? I guess if it was this way you'd then just cut a big wedge in the front of the orange pumpkin so you could slot the flat piece in? Would be great to know! Thanks so much again!
ReplyDeleteHey Bagman, to answer your question, I cut the larger (orange) pumpkin entirely in half and then carved it and used picture framing wire to hinge it through holes at the back. I then put the smaller (white) pumpkin inside whole. The trickiest part is judging how big the interior space will be, but the bonus is that if it's slightly too small you can carve out some of the inside to fit the interior pumpkin better. Hope that helps! If you make your own version definitely send in a picture for me to see!
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant, cheers Noah! Will stick a pic up soon!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered you via Martha Stewart and I must say this jack o'lantern is genius! I love it, and am enjoying perusing all your skull creations!
ReplyDeleteI thought this was so cool. I tried it this year. It worked great!
ReplyDeleteThis is so creative! I LOVE IT ! They say the highest form of flattery is when you are copied. Well I am gonna copy this! Thank you !
