Sunday Simulacra - Version 4.31

As the seconds pass, days move on, and time continues it's inevitable progression into a new year our skull hunters stay on the look out with keen eyes and quick cameras.

Christopher Duis encoutered this stoic skull in the woods near Wittenborn, Northern Germany. If you look close you'll see the creepy crawly friends that keep this skull company.

Rachael Monte of Toms River, NJ "ordered a pint of beet beer and when it arrived, I saw this top half of a skull floating on the top in the foam".

And to wrap up the skulliday season John Angelo spotted this sneaky skull. "This was a decorative coaster/holder my mother-in-law had at her house. It depicts Santa's jolly head. But when I saw it reversed (turned around), all I could see was a skull. Everyone agreed and reasoned it could be a device used for two holidays - Christmas and Halloween!".

It ought to be obvious to everyone now. As long as time keeps moving on the skull hunters will keep finding these hidden treasures. No one can keep the secret skulls down. If you find one of your own, be sure to submit it to us to archive for the other skull hunters to see. Thanks!

  1. Wow! These are some of the best simulacra ever! We see so many head-on skulls in nature, but the first two are a profile and a terrific, almost 3D oblique view. Very cool. And finding a skull in Santa? Genius! (I've actually seen Santa Claus's jawbone, in a museum near the historical Saint Nicolas's bishopric in Mira, Turkey. It was only a matter of time, I guess, before I saw the whole skull!)

Great way to ring in the New Year, gang. Looking forward to a skully 2011.
