Wood Shavings Skull

Laura Marr of Flourish Creative said, "Andy and I were building a mantel and the wood shavings seemed to want to become a skull, sort of naturally fell in a semi-skull-like shape, although I obviously helped it out a little having fun playing with the pieces."

I like use of the natural curls of wood plane shavings. The curves remind me a bit of gingerbread edges on Victorian houses. They also remind me of peeling bark on a birch tree. I've always liked "helping" the pealing process and crumbling it into dust.
