Gille Monte Ruici, from Paris, France,
is back with skulls he created with kitchenware utensils, lids, and brooches. He explains, "The vanities of the 17th century represented in paintings meant: memento mori ( remember you that you're going to die). I illustrate in a contemporary way by: Some day you're going to die...it can be because of the junk food." Too true. I like seeing a modern take on memento mori. His work reuses every day objects as reminder that life is short and to live well.
