Last Days

There are still several big ideas that I'd like to get done in the last 100 days of the project (which officially begins on February 24th!). If you can help with one of the following please drop me a line...

Do you own/rent billboard space?

Do you have access to the lights in a large building with many windows?

Do you manage/teach/coordinate a large group of people [100+, the more the better] (i.e. a big class of students)?

It would be helpful if you are on the East Coast of the United States, but I will travel further afield if need be.

  1. I teach at a high school in Louisville, KY ... I could easily get 100 or more students to show up for something.

  2. I'm on the East coast :)

But I don't have access to any of the things you listed :(

  3. About the third one, I kinda wonder just how many regular readers this blog has. It would be pretty great if a bunch of us could get together somewhere and help with something.

  4. I'm an Assistant Principal at a 7th-12th school in Newport Beach. Far away, of course, and I don't know how many of the 2200 students I could get to help out . . .

  5. I see a billboard on the highway everyday i pass by, its had a number up for about a year and only half of it has been rented out at most, but is blank at the moment. It doesn't have any lights, at least i don't think. I'm not sure the number but ill check today and write again tonight. It's located at Nashua, New Hampshire on Rt. 3.

  6. WHAT?! Where will I come for my skull fix?!!! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

    B/c its all about me.

Oh, and q6, if NB is anything like it was when I when to HS in the OC (some 20+ years ago), you will have no problem getting the entire student body involved if you mention this site.

  8. I'd offer my students if I could get you to fly out to Australia :)

How bout a 'skulls across the world' link up art piece?

Skull Pez? I have no idea why that suddenly hit my synapses, but it did!

Are you happy to get solicitations for ideas or are you wanting to continue on unaided by the general populace?

And by the way, would you consider altering (of have me alter) the "Nevermore" design for a tattoo I want? I really want that design... but I kind of want my raven with his head intact to keep him separate from the awesomness of the skull. I am loathe to mess with the design myself, but I am unsure as to having a raven skull... Still thinking about it though. Most assuredly!

I am looking across at my husband as he wears the awesome "Nevermore" t-shirt you sent too!

    Cheers!

  9. In response to Kitty/Beck:

The "Quoth the Skull" design, and all the other artwork here at Skull-A-Day, is released under the Creative Commons Non-Commercial Attribution Sharealike license. (You can click the link on the page to see a summary at the CC website.)

More or less, as long as you don't sell it, you give credit to the original author, and you release any derivative work under the same license, you can do what you want with it.

So, technically, you definitely could tattoo a modded version on yourself. To be fully compliant, you *should* also tattoo the Skull-A-Day and CC license URLs with it, but I'm sure Noah will let you off on those requirements :p
