This contest is over. Thanks to everyone who participated and left a comment.
"Skullface" is a beautiful hard cover book that measures almost 8 1/2" x 10 1/2" (215mm x 266mm). That means that each piece of skull art is in amazing color, or black and gray, and large enough to genuinely appreciate.
[NOTE: If you're reading this on Facebook or Google+ then be sure to leave your comment on the original Skull-A-Day.com post if you want to be officially entered in the contest.]
IMPORTANT: Don't forget to include a way of contacting you(either an email in the post OR BE SURE your blogger profile has a working email link for you). Entries are only valid with this information.
Note: Yak has agreed to ship to our winner anywhere in the world so here's a global good luck to you all.
Of course you don't have to wait until the end of our contest to ensure that you're a winner. You can purchase your own copy(or more for friends) here. Be sure to check out all of the interesting art books they have to offer at Korero Books. GOOD LUCK!!!

Ooh, want. I have so many favorite skull artists, but since you are making me choose, I'll say Madame Ashley Talbot because her Mutter Museum poster is one of my favorite things.
Maskull Lasserre. Love his skull sculptures from books or wood!
Dan Springer!
I love love love this!! I don't have one favorite artist but I would have to say the sugar skulls and Dia de Muerte style is my favorite!!
I love skulls. I even call my mom Skull face (as a term of endearment)!

oh squee! This is right up my alley. My favorite skull artist is Leila from Illustrated Ink. I love her pinup, tattoo-ey sugar skull art.
Love it! Abril Andrade Griffith would be my favorite skull artist; I love how she makes skull characters wistful.
Tom French. These samples rock, by the way!
Charles Allan Gilbert. I love All Is Vanity.
I would say my favorite would be Laurie Lipton. What amazes me with her artwork is not only the details and realistic feel, but the media she chooses to work with is the very basic pencil&charcoal on paper.

Laurie Lipton.

Zurburan's St. Francis has to be my favorite skull in art ever. I used to spend hours in front of it at the museum as a teenager - I've done drawings of it, animations of it and more...

If I would have to chose one, it'd be John Dyer Baizley. There are so many other great artists working with the vanitas-motive, but Baizley's obvious Pushead-influences always dig up some old memories.
Jeral Tidwell is my favorite !
What a great book!
I love Mike Egan's work ... and Ali Gulec.
I'm gonna go with Kris Kuksi. I'd love to have an entire home done by him.
Shawn Barber!!!...

Opppps forgot. skelebike@sbcglobaldotnet
Kris Kuksi is absolutely one of my favorite skull artists. I love the Rococo style, and his art is so dark and beautiful.
I am a tattoo artist and I love to tattoo skulls, but there are some artists that have done these amazing skull tattoos that I love:

Frank Maddocks..all though I wouldn't say he's particularly a "skull artist", he did do my favorite skull piece - the cover to Deftones self titled album. Besides him, I'd say Alton Kelley & Stanley Mouse.

Gotta gold old skool on this one and say pushead
I'll go back to the classics, the amazing men & women of Oaxaca Mexico and their Dia de Los Moertos folk art. I have loved their work for a long time and am lucky to own some great pieces. The joy and sense of humor is great.
One of my favourites is Paul Alexander Thornton, awesome ballpen artist.

I have no real idea who my favourite is but I love my Tatty Devine skull necklace, my sugar skulls and my tattoo done by Paul Naylor of Powerhouse Tattoo so I guess he gets my vote :-) samanthaself@yahoo.co.uk
Is it fair to suggest that Tibetan tantric art - such as fiery protectors and dancing skeleton figures used with Chod practices - would represent the most beautiful "skull art"?
Oh, and as a flashback - Rick Griffin, the artist who did cover for Grateful Dead's AOXOMOXOA.
there are 2 skull artists that I love right now...because they are easy to get in touch
E not some unreachable super star artist!
they are for real, and love to get in touch with their audience!
DAVID LOZEAU

JESSICA JOSLIN
