I like the drawing style of this anatomical skull. The reference to trephination, with the burr hole, makes this image a bit creepier. The use of trephining was thought to relieve pressure in the brain, therefor curing different ailments such as skull trama, migraines, mental disorders and seizures. This particular drawing seems to be modeled after an Iron Age skull that showed signs of healing, however obviously the hole didn't close before death. The procedure is still in use today to for the relief of cranial haemotmas (blood clots in the head).
