Skull Medallion

Kevin Mowrer created this medallion for an Aether Assassin, that is part of a book he's been developing. The medallion was 3D modeled and rapid prototyped. He used an oil stain on the plastic skull for an aged ivory look. This medallion is meant to be worn over a cravat. I love seeing the work that people put into costuming. Steampunk is one of my favorites that I pull from often to create costume pieces. 3D printing enables people to create amazing pieces by computer that they might not be able to create themselves by hand. Skull Whistle Pendant

In case you don't remember Michael Mueller he's the man who brought us this nifty skull pipe through the miracles of 3d printing. Now he's back with one bad ass whistle that's loud enough to wake the dead.  This skeletal screamer is gold plated brass and decorative enough to be worn as a pendant. A bit of double duty as a fabulous adornment that can also call attention to a dangerous situation.  Like the raising of the dead!  Thanks for sharing your work again, Michael!

Now a days, everyone has a phone and computer of some sort. Many people like to personalize some of their devices with cases. Hugo Arcier teamed up with Sculpteo, a 3D printing service, to create two skull cases inspired by his art series called "Degeneration", based on a faces reducing algorithm. The detailed skull highlights the printing layers while the degenerated one is a kind of tribute to the mesh triangles. Sculpteo is giving away two customized skull device cases, to two Skull-A-Day fans!

PRIZE INFO: 2 Skull Cases (one per winner).
The case can be customized to the winner's needs based on available options. The cases are available in the two skull designs, Detailed and Degenerated. The cases are available for these devices, iPhone3G, iPhone4/4S, iPhone5, Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung Galaxy SII, Samsung Galaxy SIII. They can be made in multiple colors, black, white, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, gold, and brown. A color reference chart will be emailed to the winner, for selection. The cases can also be engraved with text up to 8 characters maximum.

HOW TO ENTER: Since the cases are used to cover devices that are used to contact people, to enter this contest, answer this question in a comment. What deceased person or people would you contact, if you could? For example, I might contact Anne Bonny and Mary Read, to ask them what it was like being two female pirates together.
