Square Skull Art

Full-time floral designer Meg Landry in Groves, TX wrote: “I love Skull-A-Day and here are some skull art pieces that I recently created.”

C. Mondrian says:

Sometimes it is alright to think inside the box. I like the bright green of these panels you created and the materials are wonderful. The bent wire and tacks as well as the cassette tapes are a wonderful use of found or repurposed objects. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

Also, since it is Friday lets flashback to a couple of skulls using bent wire and outdated media from the original project.

[Flashback Friday] 3. Sir Skull-A-Day

Flashback Friday is a weekly countdown of the fan selected top 52 skulls of Skull-A-Day 1.0. Each week I'll be posting an original skull along with some additional commentary in order from lowest to highest rated, with the #1 skull appearing in the last week of year 3 of the project...

#13: 3. Sir Skull-A-Day

This was the third piece I'd created for the project and the one that most of my friends saw first since I didn't announce the existence of the site to anyone until that day. The reason I chose this specific cassette was it was the first white one I encountered when I was looking through my old tapes in the basement!

99. (Sex, Lies, and) Videoskull.

Arranged Magnetic Tape. I had been considering a videotape skull for a while, but MonsterManiac's mom's suggestion spurred me to take action this morning!

TRIVIA FACT: I won this tape from Nellie McKay at a concert of hers by answering a trivia question(!). My apologies to her for destroying it, I hope she appreciates that it was done in the name of art!
