Today's simulacrum will have all of the meat eaters out there ready to fire up their grill and get to some sizzlin'! The first mouth watering find is from Kenny O. who is making his "attempt at Swiss cheese infamy". The second is from Kevin McIntyre of Raleigh, NC. Kevin found this unexpected dinner guest staring up at him after he prepared his hamburgers. I enjoyed both of these so much that I feel like I should include a salad simulacra just to balance things out. Thanks for sharing your juicy discoveries with us, Kenny and Kevin! Remember to submit your own hidden skull finds if you have the chance.

Skull Pumpkin Cheese
Sonja Horstman of Downers Grove, IL "made this for a party. The recipe was for the Great White Pumpkin from Southern Living. I thought a skull would be more fun."
I love cheese. I'm like Wallace happily shaking my fists in love with cheese. When going to a party, I always look for the cheese...in fact I'm more likely to go to a party if there is a tray of cheese I can hoard in my belly. I also love pumpkin. This skull creation would have been mostly devoured by me...because it's cheese, pumpkin, and a skull all in one. I'm going to raid the fridge now...

This week’s offering is cheese
“Fahrenheit 275 ”, 1.5" x 3", melted cheese on tortilla chips
Monterey C says:
Some say that the true skill of an artist is knowing how to allow the material tell you what it wants to become. I found that calling to be just the case with this piece. The round shape emerging from a river of melted cheese instantly called out to me. With strange looks from the next table over I felt a little bit like Richard Dreyfuss a couple of quick shots and then the piece was gone. Sic transit gloria mundi
My weekly offering of original skull designs were posted on Mondays in year 3.0, you can see all of them plus a few more HERE . Knowing the personal pressures of a creating a piece each week, I tip my hat to the massive one-a-day project that was undertaken by The Skullmaster, during the original Skull-A-Day year.
Hopefully you will find some nourishment in my offerings, but if you need more nourishment, you may always Friend me or Follow me in their respective places.

Sunday Simulacra - Version 4.26
Today, we have some fine examples of skulls found in a drink and food. Such great examples, that I'm going to have to start hunting for more skulls in what I drink and eat.

Dave Chimp from Berlin, said "My girlfriend Flavie was preparing dinner tonight (peppers and chicken with lemon, followed by a raspberry cheesecake - my girlfriend rules!) when I saw this beauty of a grinning skull. Of course I thought of Skull-A-Day."
Julia Orloff from Bellingham, Washington said, "This appeared after finishing my Boundary Bay Scotch Ale. The finest brew in town!"
I think a skull brew would have to be the finest one in town. Maybe one day, I will have one.

I'm glad you thought of us to share this sinister pepper with. That is a great meal. Your girlfriend does rule!
Swiss cheese is both flavorful and neat to see what shapes the bubbles form. I'm going to have to start searching for skull shapes in the swiss cheese I eat.
Keep sending those pictures in to our submissions address. Just keep in mind that since we only post simulacra once a week it might take a little longer than normal for it to be posted.Monday, February 1, 2010

This week’s offering is a Cheese Tortilla.

“De sus cabezas están llenas de queso” 8" X 6" Cut flour tortilla with cheese, pan fried
Chihuahua C says:
On my mind this week are the large number of people who have been killed along the US/Mexican border due in part to turf wars between drug cartels.
Over the weekend there was another incident in Juarez, Mexico in which 16 teenagers were killed while watching a soccer match. It is believed the gunman had the wrong location. In the first month of 2010 there have been 230 murdered in Juarez.
Please take a moment to remember those that are no longer here, as well as those who are ever present, working to make the future free from senseless violence.
Remember each Monday during the 3.0 year I am posting an original skull design. My weekly offerings are nothing compared to the one-a-day massive project done by the Skullmaster in 1.0, but hopefully you will find some nourishment in these weekly offerings.
