Zombieking Skulls

Liverpool, U.K. must be the most undead place on Earth. It's home to Chris "Zombieking" who is the BRAINS! behind these two colorfully undead paintings.  The first shows a glimpse of the "dark" side of being left to a burning eternal damnation.  The second reminds me of a some kind of totally stellar Grateful (un)Dead poster.  Each of these pieces is killer for their own reasons, and we thank you for sharing them with us, Chris!

Rainbow Skull

I know it might be hard to believe the title, but Ron Boyer has done a beautiful job of filling his skull full of color and life.

The radiating sun in the forehead adds light to the illuminating glow that shines with luster and reflectivity.  The colors are astounding in their boldness.  I never thought I would ever see all the colors of the rainbow create such an effervescent skull so full of anti-life while also making me crave some Lifesavers candy.  Thanks for sharing your work, Ron!

Lace and Rainbow Skulls

Our friend Mario Martinez Pitarch from Barcelona revisits a couple of originals in a whole new way. His lace skull is a new edition of Noah's 109. Lace Skull.

And I hope Mario doesn't mind but I have dubbed this piece his "Rainbow Rorshach Skull" because it reminds me so much of Noah's 222. Rorshach Skull.

Once again this proves that skulls don't always have to be bony and brittle or bloody and gory. There are many ways to accentuate that cranium within all of us. Thanks for the reminder, Mario.

36. CD-R Skull

Used CD-R cut with scroll saw. Yep I finally figured out what to do with these things when they're defective or no longer needed (actually I already use a couple of CD-Rs as reflectors tucked in between my bike's spokes). As a side note, I should say I got the scroll saw when I was in middle school and had barely used it since then, and now I pull it out at least once a week!
