Body paint on skin. My friend Sara asked if I would paint a skull on her pregnant belly for my Halloween party tonight, so how could I say no? Of course I told her she had to be the skull of the day, to which she replied "I was hoping you'd say that!".
Acrylic on Balloon. I found these dead balloons on the ground the other day and I had a flashback to the French film from the 50's "The Red Balloon" [Le Balon Rouge], which I saw probably two dozen times when I was young. Did everyone else have to watch it as a kid? Or was that just a Virginia in the 70's/80's thing? Rewatching it now I'm impressed with how simple and elegant it is, worlds away from today's kids' media.
Arranged Peanut Shells. Longtime reader Monster Maniac suggested this material a while back.
Chalk on Sidewalk (34" x 50" [86cm x 127cm]. Apparently sidewalk chalk makers don't think kids need dark colors. This one is right in front of the entrance to my house. Luckily it's close enough to Halloween that the neighbors will think it's just a decoration and not be too freaked out. Thanks to Jessica for providing the suggestion and materials!
Arranged Yarn. I don't know how to knit or crochet (yet) so this'll have to suffice for now, though I do have another yarn idea in the works already. Can you guess what it might be?
Raked Leaves (approx 3ft x 3ft [1m x 1m]. Yard work has never been more fun. I left this for my neighbors to discover!
