[BONUS] RVA Pancake Love Skulls

On Valentine's Day I spent the morning creating pancakes for a fun charity event called RVA Pancake Love. I worked alongside a dozen other artists, most working for the first time in the medium of pancake batter to raise funds for FeedMore a local charity that helps feed the needy here in the Richmond, Virginia area.

Sunday Simulacra - Version 7.28

The kitchen is always a great place to find hidden skulls. Perhaps they are reminiscent of spirits who enjoyed the atmosphere. Today's finds from Nathan Cavanaugh(water mark on cutting board) and Tesa Gammon(pancake) are no different. Merely longing to remain where they can be with good food and good friends. Thanks for sharing these with us, Nathan and Tesa!

Pancake Skull

Lesli Marshall sent us this "pancake syrup and butter skull made at Kerbey Lane Cafe, Austin, Texas."

It's breakfast time, so I thought this was appropriate. I love playing with my food and making skulls out of it at restaurants. Breakfast is a especially good time to do so. Pancakes are great because they can come with toppings like butter, syrup, berries, compote, Nutella, chocolate chips...etc. Skulls are a good motif because it creeps out or entertains the server...or if you made your own breakfast...yourself. Great now I want pancakes. Where's a Sunday brunch time travel device when I need it?

Pecan Pancke Skull

Pudge is back at it with a tasty breakfast he recently had. He writes, "I don't know if anyone has made a pancake skull yet, but I was eating breakfast this morning and saw inspiration. My wife, Shannon, made pecan pancakes and he tasted just as good as he looked. I wanted to make cross bones out of bacon, but we had sausage instead. Enjoy."

Actually, the Skull Master has made vegan skull pancakes in the past, however, they did not have the nutty goodness that yours possessed. Pudge, if you still crave bacon crossbones then just go here. And what's wrong with sausage crossbones?
