Christopher Soprano of
Sop Art Studio, created
this sculpture. He was inspired by facial tattoos of the New Zealand Maori warriors. He explained, the "skull appears to float on a bed of simulated lava rock. The base of the wall sculpture is cast in a translucent resin. When hung in a window or in front of a light source the stones emit a molten glow." Tattooing has a long history and I love seeing it still used by centuries (and eons) old cultures, continuing their traditions.
