Ink & Flash Skulls

Of course I love skull tattoos, and I really dig Christal's personal touch with the flowers.  The senorita skull is especially creepy.  A beautiful black widow waiting to rip your heart out....and devour it!  Thanks again for the great submissions, Christal!

Flash Card Skull

Holden McCormick sent us this skull "made by a 12 year old" using flashcards.

You know when technology runs too much of your life when the term “flashcards” brings up an image of a piece of some sort of technology.  It has been ages since I had the pleasure of working with these old pieces of technology, it however is nice to see that our younger generation is still familiar with them.  Then again all those cards are blank, maybe this is a commentary that these have gone the way of magnetic tape or film strips, and this is the fate of another tool of the ghosts of learning past.  Thank you for sharing this creation with us.

Sophie's Skull Flash

Sophie Adamson has been here before with some great skull sketches, but now she's making her return as a tattoo apprentice at Art and Soul Tattoo in Plymouth UK, and presenting this battered brain case.

I'm really digging this piece because it reminds me of the Black Label Society skull.  The ink splatters give a wonderful blood effect that causes me to question the severity of it's demise.  Bloody and violent seems to come to mind.  A peaceful passing doesn't seem likely.  You're work is getting better, Sophie.  Thanks for keeping us updated, and please continue to do so.
