Kelli King wanted to make her nail art skulls fun and different, so she gave them bow. "Whoever said skulls had to be scary never put a pink bow on one."
I love skull nail art. Each artist has their own interpretation. Kelli used bows on her skulls and hearts with her crossed bones to create a cute nail art look. To learn how to make Kelli's skull nails, check out her YouTube video tutorial. Additional photos can be found on her blog, You Got Nailz.

Pinky Nail Skull
Mish Tiemann painted a neon green and black skull on his pinky nail.
Nail art is becoming increasingly popular. There are websites, blogs, businesses, and YouTube channels devoted to art on nails. I love seeing nails transformed into pieces of art. Our hands become mini art galleries with changing artwork. We do so much with our hands, that they deserve special treatment.

Skull and Filigree Nails
Bianca from Boston, MA, "painted some nail art skulls" and filigree.
I love nail art. Skull nail art of course is even more interesting to me. I love the simplicity of the skulls, though from experience, I know it takes several hours to do even a simple design. The added filigree is a nice accent. The base coat appears to be a iridescent clear shimmer polish. Bianca does nail art every week. Check out her blog for new designs.

Dia de la Abby #62: Skull Nails
This is inspired by my trip this coming weekend to the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia, PA and skull nail art by Alice and The Daily Nail.
This was one of the hardest projects that I've done. I've been painting my nails for over 20 years, so I thought I could easily do this. Nope. In fact, what you see is my 2nd attempt at doing this. My other design was too messy, small and cartoonish for my liking. However, my daughter liked it, so I'll paint her nails with cartoon like skulls. If you would like to learn how to do this nail polish design, go to the tutorial.
Every other Thursday in the 5.0 year, I will post my own Dia de la Abby creations Every Thursday in the 4.0 year, I posted my Dia de la Abby creations and occasionally tutorials with instructions on how I made my pieces. Hopefully you feel inspired by my posts just as I was by Noah's Skull-A-Day 1.0 daily project. Need more of me than just a weekly dose, follow me on Facebook, Google+ and/or Twitter.
