[CONTEST] Win Penelope from Skelly Chic

THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED! Thanks for participating!

Leigh Hannan is the artist behind Skelly Chic. All of her skellies are handmade from paperclay or paper mache over a handmade armature, painted with many layers of acrylics, detailed in pen, sealed with a medium and embellished with fabric trim. Each is one of a kind; there are no ordinary skellies! Her love for colorful skeletons started with a trip to visit her father in El Paso, Texas. There she noticed color, color, color everywhere, and also Day of the Dead skeletons. Since then Mexican Day of the Dead artwork has been a big influence on her own artwork. Leigh wants to share this love for skulls, by giving away this Penelope Skelly to one lucky Skull-A-Day fan.

PRIZE INFO:
Penelope is a one-of-a-kind (OOAK) skull art doll, hand-sculpted from paper clay over a hand-made armature, painted with many layers of acrylics, sealed with a matte medium and embellished with fabric trim and a rose brooch. She is 13.25" H x 2.75" W x 2.5" D, and weighs 1.3 oz. Penelope has important hair. It ripples, and flows, and you can feel a soft ocean breeze beckoning to you whenever you look at her! A fresh teal ruffled collar and pretty peach rose brooch complete her look. Penelope is not a toy, and not waterproof; please protect her to ensure that you have her company for many years to come. Penelope is signed and dated.

Penelope is a former theater actor who now resides in the costume room of her favorite theater, the 'Funny Bone'! She secretly adds mini roses to all the costumes, so a part of her is always on stage.

Penelope lives above me in a condo in Nowheresville, NC. I can hear her throughout the night singing opera at the top of her creaking, cracking voice. By day, she's quiet as a mouse, and when she thinks I'm away, she leaves me presents of baked goods tucked up against my door. I once heard her speaking French to one of her infrequent visitors. I like to fantasize that she was a member of the French underground and is still working undercover for someone. My days & nights would be so empty without dear Penelope!

Penelope is a horticulturist who developed edible roses that are not only beautiful, but perfectly balanced sources of emergency nutrition. She always carries one with her. Her pet dog, Bruno, also carries a few attached to her collar. Since they love to hike and camp, particularly in remote locations, Penelope and Bruno developed a habit of wearing her roses and carrying waterproof matches at all times.

Penelope is a striving musician who plays in the park under the trees. She puts out her guitar case if people want to donate, but she really just plays for herself. She writes all her own music including a haunting melody about a girl who lost herself to her nightmares. Every time Penelope plays this song there is never a dry eye around her.

Penelope is a quiet, pretty girl that works in the local flower shop. What the people of her village don't know is that Penelope has a dark secret. Instead of sleeping every night, Penelope sits in the middle of the living room floor and goes into a deep trance.

In her trance, she does "far seeing." She travels to other countries, snoops in on conversations, reads top secret documents. As she does this she is does automatic writing on her laptop. This is the research she is doing for her soon to be published book, called, "The World Will Implode by 2020."

the book is not fiction.

Penelope is the lovely, yet lonely, wife of an aristocrat. She was forced to marry him at the very young age of 18. Because of her heart-stopping beauty, her husband keeps her hidden away in their home, where she is not allowed any visitors or access to the outside world, with the exception of her weekly delivery of books. She escapes to many different worlds through the words of her most cherished authors. Aside from her books, her only other passion lies in her Secret Garden. A place she created from her own fantastical imaginings that is filled with exotic plants and flowers, flowing vines, trellises, stone pathways and hidden alcoves. She spends most of her time there, in her Secret Garden, and though she may be lonely at times, she is never really alone so long as she has a good book and a flourishing imagination.

Penelope is a delicate yet strong and feisty lady. She is every inch the lady who is comfortable in the wilderness of Alaska.

edited to add: I forgot to leave my email address. It is lovetopaint@hotmail.com

Thanks for a chance to give Penelope a home with me.

Penelope is a weaver in the muerto town of Agua Caliente, taking the falling hair and fur of the recently deceased and creating beautiful things with it. Her own locks, dyed and knitted, became her lovely scarf. The villagers cherish her gentle nature.

Penelope lives by the beach, but she's right down 64 at Virginia Beach. She looks out over the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, guiding the ships in-n-out of the HamptonRoads Harbor, as the ocean breeze blows through her beautiful hair...

I think Penelope lives in London, in a flat full of cats, after being jilted at the altar. She writes steamy romance novels under the name Laurie Longherr.

Penelope is my twin sister and a Oaxacan princess. She lives in the wind and wears oranges in her hair. You know when her breeze is floating over by the fragrance of honeysuckle. Penelope laughs with the sounds of chimes and winks with the moon. Shut your eyes, face the sky, and breathe in the sparkle of her spirit.
