DIY Vintage Lace Sugar Skull T-shirt
Debi Beard of Debi's Design Diary created this fabulous sugar skull using vintage lace and beads on a t-shirt. Debi shared how to make this shirt in a great video tutorial. You can download the template from her blog post, or create your own template. I love seeing how people create skulls from non-traditional art materials. This lace sugar skull is very wearable and unexpected. I might have to follow Debi's tutorial myself and make my own version. You can find out what else Debi is creating, on her Facebook, YouTube, and blog.

Going to Bat for a Skull
Captain Morgan told us: “I'm a diehard Los Angeles Dodgers fan but have found it difficult to find team apparel that is both appealing to my rock ’n roll aesthetic, but doesn't look ostentatious. This is a stencil piece I made myself. I used spray paint and a mechanic style shirt that I bought at a thrift store. I feel I have captured my rock ’n roll aesthetic here.”

Brooklyn C says:
Given the heated rhetoric of the past few months, I thought this was a commentary on the situation surrounding your beloved Dodgers. Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of personal style with us and hopefully your extra home team support will bring good things their way this season, and if they win it all this year, it will all be thanks to your mojo.

Super "Rubbish" Skull Saturday
Let me be the first to gladly fill your weekend with Rubbish. More specifically skull art from Pat "Rubbish" Cooksey. A collection of skulls that we definitely don't want to toss out to the curb.

The definition of rubbish includes the term "unwanted material". I know it's just a nickname, Pat, but you definitely don't produce rubbish. The colorful paintings remnd me of some sort of trippy concert posters for some sort of acid rock band. The tissue and tea leaves skull is very cool and creepy. Thanks for putting some great skull rubbish in our weekend, Pat.

[Bonus] Super Skull Stencil Saturday
Thanks to the awesomeness of the Skull Master we have a number of skull items on our "Free Stuff" page. Things like patterns, puzzles, fonts, and a bunch of stencils. We love seeing pics of items adorned with these stencils so here's a few to fill your weekend with even more skulls.
Noel Wyatt in Derby, UK plastered his bass drum head with a rowdy bunch of headbangers.

Alex in Santa Cruz is a wall climbing cat that writes, "Thanks for putting some of your stencils up on the website. I liked them a lot and decided to decorate a climbing wall I was constructing with them".

Megan from Rochester, NY submitted this pic and note, "Attached are some pictures of some tees and tanks I stenciled using the #9 skull stencil! I made them as christmas gifts and it was economical and fun. I printed the skull stencil onto a thick acetate (like an overhead transparency) and then used an X-acto knife to trace the stencil and pop out the shapes. I used simple bone colored acrylic paint mixed with textile medium so that the design holds up to washing and wearing. My friends and family loved them! Oh, and then I designed and printed the tee tags too!".

This color blast skull comes from Shelby who, "Immediately printed out one of the stencils and spray painted it. It was a vampire skull. However, I didn't cut out all too well, and my ink ran out while printing. Nonetheless this is the outcome".

And Adrian Vallejo of Amarillo, Texas kept it simply straight with a great white on black stenciled binder.

Thanks to all of you who submit your stenciled items. We love to see them and we'll always post more if you keep submitting them.

Felipe Venancio Alves has sent us some pics of Noah's #9 Stencil Skull in use. He writes, "Hello. Me and a friend used the stencil skull found at your site to make some canvases and a t shirt and I am sending some pictures of it to you! Thank you for the stencil!

Calaveras Screen Print Skulls
Valerie Pierce knows that doing something you love is best shared with friends. She writes, "Recently I have started a screen printing company with a friend of mine called Calaveras Apparel that is focused around Day of the Dead, skulls, fine art, and tattoo work. I designed the logo by hand, drawing the image and creating the font used for the company name, then we hand screen printed it on a few t-shirts."

I really like the old school vintage look of your shirts. As a matter of fact, all of the stuff in your etsy store is great. I'm such a sucker for handmade goods. Thanks, Valerie(and thank your friend, too)!
