Jon MDC submitted these two skull paintings. He says, "Skulls are an obsession of mine and this year has seen me take a step back into fine art and begin painting again. I like the decayed quality to these skulls. The intact teeth and fissures have been outlined, further defining the absence of teeth and delicateness of the skulls. It also adds a surreal cartoonish quality to the images. The use of medical crosses and potential death instruments make these more sinister, as the hint at a cause of death for these skulls.
