Skull Studded Jacket

Masayoshi Yoshino collaborated with leather artist Robert Warner, to create this jacket. Masayoshi made all the studs and buttons, totaling about 700 skulls. Robert is known for making custom leather jackets for rock stars. I love the texture all the skull studs and buttons great. Each one is finely detailed. It does remind me of the stacks of skulls in catacombs. You can see more photos of the jacket, here. I spied some other skull adornments on Masayoshi's Pinterest.

Skull Biker Jacket

Super contributor Kathleen Conahan from Portland, OR is back again with a revamp of her original pirate flag design, this time painted onto her jacket.  I'd say it's pretty bad ass with a touch of elegance.  Yes, you can have both!  Kathleen says that now she just needs to start a "Georgia O'Keefe themed motorcycle gang". If you are in the Portland area and interested then I suggest you look her up. Thanks for sharing again, Kathleen!

Stenciled Jacket Skull

Tony Yarbray has a peculiar way of fulfilling a request with this skull stencil. He tells us, "This young lady asked me to ruin her jacket for her a couple of years back so I started to cut the sleeves off it for her, but then she told me she just wanted me to spray the skull stencil I had made on it. When some kids saw her do that they all wanted a skull on their shirts. I hope their parents didn't whoop them." I hope so too, Tony, but I'm sure everyone was okay in the end with their new additions of skullrific decorations. Thanks for sharing it with us, and not getting us whooped!

Hoody Skull

Allen "onesian" Vili of New Zealand sends us this one of a kind airbrushed hooded jacket he painted for an exhibition. An almost osteologically correct design for keeping you warm even if you get chilled to the bone.

I especially like the bone structure being present. That hood probably looks pretty badass when it's up also. Thanks for keeping it skullified on the South Side!

Family Man skull

Abby Davis has some skulls she'd like to share with us. I'll let her describe the pieces:

"The first one is a family portrait of sorts. D is for Davis (our last name). The red skull is my husband, the blue is my daughter, and the green is me. I used each person's favorite color to paint their skull. First, I painted the canvas with black acrylic. Next, an uneven layer of crackle medium. Then, silver acrylic paint over the crackle medium. Because of the properties of the crackle medium, it crackled through the last layer of paint too which was the skulls. I like the over all effect it has."

"The other photo is of a jacket I embellished one night before going out to Fallout. I think it was for goth prom. The back is inspired by day of the dead skulls. I tend to doodle a lot of them while at work, so I thought it was the perfect motif for his jacket. I painted it in about 20 min. using paint pens and my handy laptop for inspiration. Apparently the top hat and cane are from a voodoo skull. I had remembered them from a skull I had seen years ago, but just assumed it was from the Mexican skulls. Plus, since the jacket was for a goth prom, it was a good fit."

"My husband loves the jacket and was excited to get to wear something I made...well in this case decorated. I have a degree in fashion design and we've been together for almost 8 years, so he has been waiting that long for me to make him something.
Hope you enjoy my crafts. If I make a skull scarf this winter, I send that picture."

You have a good and patient man, Abby. Just don't make him wait 8 more years for something to wear. Thanks for sharing your family skulls.
