Animal Skull Wall Vases

Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. The good folks from Scaleworks in the Netherlands have no interest in exploiting wildlife for their personal design ideas.  These skulls, measuring 53cm wide x 76cm high x 30cm deep, are made from MDF, glass, and some optional pink and orange branches.

**Scale Works is an Amsterdam based prop design studio specializing in interior design, photo shoots, theatrical productions, unique gifts and home decor.  It was created in April 2012 by British born, Amsterdam based, visual artist Lawrence James Bailey as a means to distract himself from all the other important things he was supposed to be doing.  Much of the Scale Works output attempts to mix day-day banality with mysticism, occultist symbolism and cheeky rustic charm.

These wall vases are just a couple of the skulls found over at the Scaleworks website.  I truly appreciate the combination of biology and technology in these and other pieces they have.  It's a great way to celebrate the wonders of nature by using the man made products that came from the Earth first.  Thanks for sharing!

Skull Wall Pattern

Albert Leon Sultan is the creator of this stylish skull wall pattern that adds a touch of "skully" class to this lavish living room.

The regal purple is the perfect color for the feeling of luxuriosness that this room gives. Of course I love the subtle skulls included in the design, Albert, but I also love all of the extras that give your design so much life. Thanks for inviting us in.

Sunday Simulacra - Version 4.45

Today’s simulacra are a bit hard headed.

Kaye Reed from El Paso, TX found this rock at the Wupatki Ruins in Arizona

Ainslee showed off a granite tile

Sam Snoek-Brown, one of our regular simulacra hunters, offered what I think is a two for one. He found this skull (or skulls) while walking through his neighborhood in Abu Dhabi. He wrote: “My wife thinks it looks like Frankenstein’s monster’s skull.”

I can't believe it is week 45 of 4.o already where has the year gone? I was going to post my own collection of simulacra that I have acquired over the last few months, but we keep getting so many wonderful submissions that I will just have to wait. Thank you all for taking the time to send in your submissions, I never tire of seeing what the world has to offer.

Keep sending those pictures in to our submissions address. Just keep in mind that since we only post simulacra once a week it might take a little longer than normal for it to be posted.

Sunday Simulacra - Version 4.33

We have been told the walls have ears, but today we see their skulls.

First up is Kerosene long time fan, Sin-in-Linen winner, and a posted submitter from Montreal, Quebec, Canada who wrote: “I see this skull simulacrum whenever I go to my studio; it puts a smile on my face as I go into the building. I've taken other photos of it, but it seems waiting for the snow was a good idea.”

“R V” sent us a picture of a dilapidated bathroom wall that shows perhaps a skull of a vampire

Last for the day, Emily said: “He's faint, but I found this screamer spackled onto the wall in the
garage at our new place in West Seattle. I think he's rather cute.”

232. Stylized Stencil Skull

Spray Painted Stencil on Wall. As always you are invited to download and play with this art by grabbing the PDF HERE. This one looks best with a darker color paint on a lighter background. Be sure to send me pictures of what you make with it!
