169. Found Skull #4: Apartment Grayskull


My friend Russ reminded me a while back about this apartment building in town that has a strikingly skull-like exterior which he liks to call "Castle Grayskull". Below my interpretation in ink which I digitally colored...

I love how the screen in the picture looks like eyes. What is the history on the architecture? 20th century mid/late? What is the area like? what does this building look at?

The houses in the area were built mostly in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It's in the middle of town on a college campus and that face looks onto a small parking lot.

what program did you create the digital version of this image ? it looks awesome .

Thanks Beefdip! I scanned my pen drawn illustration into Photoshop and converted it into a bitmapped TIFF (which allows it to have a clear background). I then placed into Illustrator and on a separate layer behind it I drew in the shadows and background colors as solid shapes.
