Mirror Ball Skull

This dazzling mirror ball skull is a handmade beauty from Ronn Campbell of Kennewick, WA. He writes, "Made a paper-mâché cast of an existing skull. Filled with a combination of foam and wads of paper-mâché. Ordered the mirror tiles online and started gluing."

Mirror mirror on the skull, who's the life of the party and never dull? You are! This is a great skull that is desperate for attention. All it needs now is a place to hang, some bright lighting, a bunch of wild and crazy Skull-A-Day readers to fulfill it's destiny. Thanks for sharing it, Ronn. Now I need to go break out some disco music.

Pinewood Derby Skull

Let me oblige proud papa, Ronn Campbell of Kennewick, WA, who wants to show off his boy's crafty woodworking. He writes, "This is a pine wood derby car my son Jackson and I made. He raced it in his Cub Scout troop derby. He called it 'Jawbone' and won best design."

I'm surprised we didn't hear of  Jackson winning overall first place for the derby.  The other cars should have forfeited out of sheer intimidation.  This is one bad ass bone mobile!  It's definitely the first pinewood derby car we've seen on our site.  Great work, Jackson & Ronn!

Sunday Simulacra - Version 6.23

Today's skulls were found on the doorsteps of our skull hunters, so their trek for simulacra was a short but appreciated one:

Ronn Campbell of Kennewick, WA found this nut that the squirrels left on his deck. Perhaps it comes with a warning????

And Jackie Carr of Woodland, Alabama captured this fiendish spider living on her porch.

No matter how far or short your travels are to find skull simulacra we still enjoy seeing them all. Be sure to send them to us so we can share them with the rest of the clan. Thanks, Ronn and Jackie!

X-Mas Skull Ornament

Past contributor Ronn Campbell in Kennewick, WA told us: "Here is a present I made for myself- Have a skully, skully Christmas."

Unorthodox C says:

As the weather around here may keep me inside for a limited time maybe this is a good weekend to pack away some Yuletide. This piece however should be considered for a "nevergreen tree"- you know those artificial ones that just too big to store so you keep it up all year and just remove the specific Christmas theme ornaments so it doesn't look so weird. Thank you for sharing your lasted work with us we always appreciate seeing what our old friends are creating new.

Mirror Ball Skull

Ronn Campbell of Kennewick, WA gave us an idea of a possible new New Year’s tradition- Dropping a skull at midnight. Just add this to some of the other items that may be dropping at midnight this year in a town near you.

Falling C says:

This last Flashback Friday of 2011 is a great time to remember all the wonderful artwork that has been featured during 2011. App Sketched Skulls

Long time friend of the Skull-A-Day project Ronn Campbell in Kennewick, WA told us: "I downloaded an app called sketch up.  Of course the first thing I drew were a few skulls."

Appster C says:

Thank you for continuing to be a supporter of the project and submitting some of your new creative endeavors with us to share.  As we are settling into year 7.0 it is wonderful to be able to catch up with some old friends who may in turn inspire some new friends to share their work.
