102. Pastel Skull #2


Soft Pastel on Paper (image approx 10" x 7"). I tend to work very controlled and with a minimal palette, so this was my attempt to break out of that mold a bit. Plus I really enjoyed my recent experience working with pastels, so it was nice to return to the medium.

I agree with anonymous' comment regarding color choice. One would think the orange hues would pop to the front while the greenish hues would push deeper (per color theory), but your choice actually has a counterintuitive effect - that is, nice depth. Bravo.
