I decorate inside and out.. All my decorations are red and black, since my livingroom is painted a deep red color. My tree is a fake white one and I use regular Christmas-y stuff as well as skeletons and bats to make it spooky ;)

We dress up our full size skeleton in garland, a santa hat and candy canes hanging from his rib cage. ;)

All about the "noir" Christmas touches! Made a few skellie ornaments myself this year. But these are ADORABLE! We have a big tree - must go to the ceiling and as many oddball ornaments as possible.

First year of lights outside for Xmas... went overboard. Inside we are a bit simpler this year: Tree, stocking and a wreath.

This has been an off year, but our primary holiday decor isusually a fake silver tree covered with ornaments from our childhood. We also hang our stockings by the chimney with care, in hopes that Jack Skellington will fill them with skulls!

I just love these! If I win I am sharing one with my best friend.

We usually go all out with decorations inside and outside. This year we have more outside than inside. We have a two year old daughter who is into everything. Our tree has ornaments only on the upper half so she can't get to them.

I have a skeleton ghost thing I put up at Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos. I leave it up and put a santa hat on him for the holidays.

The inside of our home is always done right up for Christmas. You walk into the house and its blue, grey, white and sparkles EVERYWHERE.
Bought a black wreath this year to go along with our Santa in a black outfit.
Lasy year our outdoor lights were blue, kept them up all year round and now they're green...crap.

We have a small artificial Christmas tree inside, and the stocking hung by the TV with care.

This year for the holidays I decided to decorate one tree with a collection of mermaids and accessorizing it with blue and green xmas balls to create a water theme. My second and smaller tree is a BIKER THEMED TREE with various Santa's on motorcycles, little mini leather jackets and mini motor bikes, and skulls that I have saved from broken jewelry. I accented it with black and pearl colored xmas balls and white lights. The tree top is a sugar skull.

The Tree, and Me. That's the extent of my holiday decorating, but I do go all out on those two things. ;)

These ornaments are so cool! They would be a wonderful addition to our Christmas tree and would leave them out all year.

Our decorating isn't complete until we have our plastic purple tree up and lit. A couple years ago we covered it in skeletons and skulls and bats!

My family loves Christmas decorating! The tree is an artificial one, and the ornaments all have a person touch, whether "baby's first..." painted balls, products of our early craft days and unique pieces brought back from travels around the world. As I am an osteologist, these two ornaments would fit beautifully with our tree! They would look great next to the bead and pipe-cleaner skeletons I made as a child. The main staircase banister is done up with boughs, ribbon and painted pinecones, and the outside of the house gets lights. I also decorate the lab, which means my teaching skeleton sports a Santa hat and garland scarf, and my mexican day of the dead book ends each hold candy canes in their mouths. Did I mention these two ornaments would fit right in??

I decorate inside my apartment and outside my apartment! Some of my decorations stay up year round because they are skeleton ornaments, which I love, so I leave them out year round. I also have a fake pink and green christmas tree that I decorate themed differently every year! This year the theme was Countries around the world. :) my email is helen.wolcott@gmail.com

I put up a tree to fight off the waves of bah humbug emanating off my significant other. Being from New Mexico, the ornaments include chiles, adobe churches, ojos (home made), and cacti. No skulls yet though!

I decorate with a wreath on the front door and a strand of multicolor lights in the big front window.

Lovely ornaments.
I don't normally go mad decorating, but I always put up the ancient plastic "pine" tree and overload it with tinsel! I also hang up 5 hand-made ornaments I got as part of a swap a couple of years ago.

First, I'd like to say what an awesome giveaway...love the skull ornaments.

I decorate the outside of my house with the traditional lights on the house, with a 8 ft. Santa and sleigh along with lighted Christmas trees and deer. Inside, I try to group all of my Santa's (which I collect) on my mantel or close by, since now I have way to many.

I also decorate with our version of Skelly the Snowman (that's Jack).

Good luck to all!
Bright blessings,
Kathy

These are GORGEOUS! Would love them.

I decorate a large Christmas tree (and it does have skulls on it!), small Christmas tree and my mantel (above my fireplace) with various holiday sparklies.

Thanks!

I've always lived with people who have had tons of their own ornaments and decorations, so I've never really had many of my own... now I live with my man, who doesn't have many either... so outside, our decorations are several little wind chimes to welcome the Spirits on the breeze, and inside we have dozens of little candle holders filled with tea lights in front of each window and on many a surface, to add a warm and welcoming glow on these dark and cold nights (saves on electricity, too).

Unknown said...

I prefer minimal decorations that consist of items with personal meaning. I am particularly fond of Mexican folk art, so these ornaments would fit perfectly!

Unknown said...

We dont usually decorate that much but now that we have kids we try to change that for their sake. But its hard to find ornaments that suits us. We now decorate with some santas and angels and lots of lights both in and out. But the bedroom is all about mexico and there we cant find anything suitable. Here in sweden there is none.So its hard. And thoose ones would be sooo nice in our bedroom. I love Mexico and their culture and folk art.

Unknown said...

Our place is small, so for now its just a few lights, and candles, but the xmas spirit is there none-the-less :)

We decorate our tree with many of the Day of the Dead ornaments we've brought back with us from Mexico. We always get great double-takes from visitors when they see skulls and skeletons on a Christmas tree.

debilee said...

We have a medium sized black Christmas tree that we have trimmed with purple lights and many, many skulls, skeletons and other beautifully macabre items. These two ornaments would fit wonderfully on this tree, not to mention, add to my ever-growing sugar skull collection. :) debilee71@gmail.com

krystie said...

This year, the tree has the various ornaments from the kids' art, the stars and moons, and the lights of years past, but we have added some skulls, a mummy hand, and a couple of stuffed rats (one in full steampunk attire). There is, left over from hallowe'en a skeleton in my grandfather clock case (waiting for the movement to be repaired), and we added a santa hat to him and closed the door.

We decorate the front windows for the public and the bathroom for the private. We are a bit too pagen for a lot of decor, but I always create a fresh evergreen bough arrangement for the table.

We decorate the front windows for the public and our bathroom for the private. (The dogs don't use the bathroom, so our decor is safe.)
I always make an evergreen centerpiece from freshly-cut boughs from the back-yard tree.
Being pagans, we like to decorate naturally.

Love those ornaments!! I usually put a lot of lights on the porch- this year large red bulbs & dangly flashing stars, plus a strand woven around the pillar. Inside we have a Yule tree with lights, ornaments, tinsel garland....stockings around the doorway, and a pine garland & lights going up the banister to the upstairs...random decorations on other windows and candles w/seasonal holders on surfaces, too.

Those are Beautiful!

We decorate a live tree with white lights and various handmade ornaments. We hang the mistletoe by our Green Man, who resides above the kitchen doorway. Oh, plus the skull and bat still hanging above our front door from Halloween.

That's usually enough decorating and then the wine comes out.

For the first year I actually put up a real tree decorated with family ornaments -I've discovered I don't have enough for a 7 foot tree (hint, hint). A wreath and lights around the front door and my mantle has greenery candles, and a father Christmas figurine.

So my kids have been bugging me to decorate outside. Started with some icycles from the roof, then lighted wreaths, the lights on the bushes, now with sales...I am adding more. Christmas come quick so my obsession can end...at least for this season.

MidnightRose said...

I hang as many lights as possible on every possible spot and leave them up until there are enough complaints about taking them down. All the ornaments on the tree are plastic in case the cat decides to play. Breakable stuff is hung in places she can't get to.

I set up a giant jack skelly inflatable and go all out inside. This year we got a black tree !

We hang all our ornaments from a wire strung wall to wall in our living room area so you can see all the ornaments from my childhood. My parents would get us a new ornament every year so when we left home and had our own we would be able to fill our tree. I put them on the wire instead so you can see each and every ornament.

We put colored lights on two evergreens outside that were our inside Christmas trees about 15 years ago....we had to buy more lights this year!;)

Inside it's Christmas when we get my collections of Christmas stuffies....snowmen, Santas, reindeer and my fav...a Santa frog that makes a smoochie sound when you squeeze him!!

We have an eclectic mix of decorations, from traditional to modern to homemade. My favorites on our live tree are from my grandmother, though the skeleton and Chuthulu ornaments are a close second.

The house has paper chains that the kids made from construction paper, stockings hung from the mantle. The outside of the house is minimal, just a wreath on the door.

We have 2 fake trees. One is upsidedown and always has a theme, this years is WATER. The top of that tree holds my grandfather's globe. Outside gets only white lights and big plastic snowflakes hang from the mesquite trees. The six of us cut paper snowflakes, tape them to the front window and spray them with fake snow. The paper falls off and leaves open snowflakes where the sunshine can come through.

We decorate using blue and silver ornaments for the biggest tree we can find! Ornaments that my mom has been collecting for many years. They range in sizes to the tiniest ones. Its a great time putting it together but taking it down is the challenge =)

Unknown said...

I decorate like crazy on the inside of my house. I grew up getting a new ornament every year so my tree looks pretty good. I also have a little black tree that I decorate with voodoo dolls, pirates, skulls etc. I call that tree my dark soul tree. It helps show part of my personality while being festive :)

This year we went all out with the decorating on the inside of the house with a lot more of a minimal look on the outside. We really decked out our fireplace/mantle and stuffed the stockings (even had stockings for the dogs and cats). We decked out the christmas tree pretty well because my roommates and I, between the both of us, had a lot. We even decked out the hibiscus plant (her name is leyla-my name) right next to the xmas tree with lights and ornaments. We also strung colorful lights and garlands around the window frames and enterancways :) My room has a mini xmas tree and red lights glowing everywhere. We have handmade garlands (mini pinecones collected off the ground in front of the house)

We usually just put up a few outside lights, inside just a tree, a big one, in the window for everyone to enjoy. This year instead of the outside lights we put up a 12' inflatable snowman. Due to the poor soil content and heavy snowfall the snowman has spent most of his time face down. My crazy neighbor has taken great delight in fostering the notion that his daft dogs 'took out' the snowman and every time he sees it's down again we receive another text demanding 'milkbones' to ensure the snowman's safety, it's been hysterical, the most fun we've had in years!
My name is Pauline and I am at trypingerror@yahoo.ca Merry Christmas!

The only decoration I put up is a tiny Halloween themed Christmas tree. It's black and has homemade halloween ornaments, with a skull topper carved from bone. A friend of mine buys me horror themed talking ornaments every year, but they are too big to put on my little tree, so they get placed around it. I think my little tree compliments my mothers full blown Christmas tree nicely. Merry Christmas!

We were supposed to decorate the front of the house with rainbow lights but time flies when it's holidays and we only ended up with a single blue strand by the mailbox. Haha :) Fortunately we have an amazing little cottage that we filled with paper snowflakes, handmade stockings, lights, a gorgeous tree and homemade garland of raffia and pine cones.

My fiance has an amazing day of the dead chest tattoo and we love that mexican style. Our kitchen is full of color and mexican paper banners. We would love these ornaments to help bring the mexican flare into our holidays
