O-M-G! FREE FONTS FOR EVERYONE! (inset Screams of joy here)

It feels life the old Rosie show with all the prizes we are given just for showing up.

Weird my secret word was noahfl. Perhaps a vision of a future skull. I am thinking oranges.

This is fabulous! Thanks for all the work that went into it. Skullphabet is officially my new favorite word.

Since this is my first post I'll also say that black coffee and Skull-a-Day make my workday mornings!

Excellent - I will print out a huge Halloween sign in this font for the front of my house in a few weeks! Cheers.

Unknown said...

Obviously I'm retarded... when I go to either version I just see the code for the font. I cut and paste into????? Thanks.

Noah said...

Option-Click if you're on a Mac or Right-Click if you're on a PC and select Download and that should do it.

This will go perfectly for the next "Dear John" letter I have to write!

Thanks for the input 'anotherlimitedrebellion.' Still didn't work so I jumped out of Safari and onto Firefox and it worked like a charm. Thanks again.... and thanks for that font.

Skullmaster:
Been playing with the font most of the day. Why are the umlauts not little skulls. Was it just overkill? (Pun intended)

Anonymous said...

How do I get this into open office writer?

Noah said...

Indeed that's the reason C, apparently it is possible to have too many skulls sometimes!

bkcamden said...

Thanks for the great font... I will share with my class. Congrats on the boing boing link. Hope you are having a Halloween party this year... being the skulls and everything.

Anonymous said...

Ok all you safari-ites.

Try holding the ctrl key and right click

download linked file should work.

Anonymous said...

Sweet! ALR, you just told me about this site, I see you on BB, AND now I get free stuff...How amazing.

kostia said...

Both OpenType and TrueType fonts should work on either platform.

Anonymous said...

PERFECT for October!

Anonymous said...

I'm sort of confused - I can download it and it opens in a viewable file, but how do I actually put it into Word or something?

Anonymous said...

ok, this question has not been answered yet. to use in word you have to install into windows first. find instructions here

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA010947421033.aspx?pid=CL100636481033

sorry, i don't know html so i can't make the link that way. once you install it into windows then it will be available in all the programs.

Sweet!!!

Anonymous said...

Ok, my attempt at a link didn't work. Just go to the control panel and click fonts. copy and paste the file into the fonts folder and it should be available when you use just about any program. In fact i am using it now with firefox but when the comment is posted it reverts back to the default text for the website. :-(

Can't wait to drop this into presentations to my students. They'll laugh, they'll cry, they'll complain to mommy the teacher's weird. Again. ;-)

Thanks, I can never have enough fonts!

Anonymous said...

Awesome! Works great even in my restricted corporate environment!

Note: font looks a bit indistinct on a smaller LCD monitor but looks awesome when printed!

Jason Campbell said...

FYI for your font developer: the font contains 3 tables (LTSH, hdmx and VDMX) that are all calculated incorrectly. They just need to be re-cached, which your font software should be able to take care of. Also, this font probably does not need these tables, and as they are not required for TT or OT, you could jsut eliminate them.

You probably won't see a problem from this issue, but some PC Word uses could get odd spacing issues in rare cases.

Noah said...

Hey Jason, Thanks for the heads-up. So far no one has mentioned any problems, but I asked Mark (who did the programming) to fix the things you mentioned. He was able to get rid of the last 2 tables, but he was a loss on the LTSH. I've gone ahead and replaced the online files with the new ones he made, but if you feel like fixing the last one feel free to do so and send it along!

Noah said...

P.S. Mark says he's happy to make the last change if someone'll talk him through it. FYI he's using FontLab for Mac.

You dudes are alright. Thanks.

This is so cool! It took a few tries to download but I figured it out! You have to open your program files to download it in your font file - maybe you should explain how to do it because if you just do a staight download you can't use it. I love skulls and skeletons - this is so awesome! THANKS!

Drako said...

Thanks! This font is really cute...
