Elisa Rose Mountain from Chicago created this oil painting titled "Skull Shakti Self Portrait".
If you are not familiar with what a Shakti is, it is thought to be a powerful energy of creativity, change and fertility found in Hindu religion. This painting shows a division of life and death working as one. I like the blending of the two together. Both come together, so being depicted together is very fitting.
