Skulls In Use

I love seeing how people use my free downloads for their own projects!

Wade Watson at 15 Year Comics used my Skullphabet to create this T-shirt.

David Morales in Mexico City used my wallpaper to create a custom phone case!

Great Ghosts

I love seeing the things I've created get repurposed and this new video from James Yorkston is a great example of what can be done with the various freebies that I've shared over the years! Check out a few frames from the video featuring my Skullphabet, Ornamental Skull Wallpaper, and Skull Love Stencil and then watch the entire animated video below...

[BONUS] Skullphabet #1 In-Use with Woodwork

Crystal, used the Skullphabet #1 to form her name with woodwork.

The finished piece

In the process of painting it

This font and the Skullphabet #2 are very intricate. I'm impressed that she carved her name using this font, into wood. The painting is also very precise and gives a nice contrast, so the font elements...letters and skulls...stand out.

We love seeing what people create using our available Free Stuff. If you make something using something from the Free Stuff section of Skull-A-Day, please submit it to us! We'd love to share it!

[BONUS] The Gift of Skulls - Tank Skull

I had to share yet another incredible gift I got from Skull-A-Day friend Wenchkin and her partner Scott Krichau. They created a set of upcycled metal tank lamps for Halloween and then very kindly made a special one just for me, featuring a skull based on the one in my own Skullphabet!...

If you haven't already, definitely spend some time checking out their work online, both are very talented artists who have some extremely affordable work for sale online. Wenchkin's work is HERE and Scott's is HERE.

Have you spotted it in use or used it yourself? Let us know!

[BONUS] Skull-A-Day RVA Tattoo

My friend Kevin got the ultimate tribute to our beloved hometown of Richmond, Virginia better known as RVA using my Skullphabet font and the logo for Skull Appreciation Day!...

He had now officially joined the elite ranks of fellow Skull-A-Day tattooed folks: Deacon (who got my Ornamental skull on his back), Denis (who got a skull I drew for him when I signed his copy of my book Skulls),  GlobGlob (who also used the Skullphabet for a tattoo), Katrina (who had a tattoo designed for her by Skull-A-Day fans), Danny (who got the Rorschach Skull), Tammie (who got my Acorn Skull), Drew (who also used the Skullphabet for a tattoo), and of course Tatman, Abby, and myself! Any other Skull-A-Day tattoos out there I don't know about?

[BONUS] Skullphabet Graffiti!

Artists How&Nosm made this awesome giant graffiti piece using my Skullphabet font!...

...and even caught US secretary of treasury Timothy Geithner walking in front of it?!...

There's also a video of their process of creating it...

And if you didn't see it before, my Skullphabet 2 was also used for some graffiti!

[BONUS] Skull In Use: Nerd Merit Badge

The cool nerds over at Nerd Merit Badges recently asked my permission to use the skull from my Skullphabet #1 on a patch they made for a recent JavaScript conference! If you're not familiar with them, they sell these Boy/Girl Scout-like patches for achieving geeky milestones (like getting mentioned on Boing Boing). While the skull ones are only available to the attendees of the conference they did manage to sneak out a few for me and the guys here!

Any other Skull-A-Day tattoos out there I don't know about? Send me a picture and I'll send you a specially signed bookplate for your copy of my book.

Skull-A-Day Press: Skullphabets in Type Fontbat

Japanese publishing company BNN, Inc has included both of my Skullphabet fonts (#1 & #2) in their new book Type Fontbat. They are two of the 134 free fonts that actually come with the book on a CD. As of now it looks like the book is only available in Japan, but if you can read Japanese you can get more details on their site HERE.
