312. Quilled Skull

Quilled Paper (5.5in x 6in [14cm x 15cm]). I'd never seen quilling before I encountered it on Keltie's site and then the other day my friend Mimi mentioned it as well and even lent me a book with directions in it called "Early American Crafts"! The paper I used is all documents I'd run through the shredder to keep away from prying eyes.

I thought it read "quilted" (which just puzzled me for a moment) ... then I thought, "Is he going to quilt one?"

Are you?

Wow! If you stare at it long enough the spirals start to swirl. Nice work again.

I had to chuckle at the "old lady craft" comment since I am rapidly approaching old age, but I loved the quilled scull. I will be sure to share the link with my many quilling friends. I am including my web site http://www.Whimsiquills.com (which does not have any sculls)for those not familiar with this beautiful art form. Pat

Well done! Next you will have to do a scrapbook skull. I gave quilling a go, but couldn't get the hang of it. I'll stick to my textile crafts, thanks. :P

Great work on the skull!! Very creative! I've seen many things turned into quilled art but never a skull.
Btw,while Quilling is an old art form.. the people who do it are a wide variety of ages all over the world. I'm not even middle aged! LOL!

Very cool - I'm a quiller (but am not old in any sense of the word and have taught people of many ages to quill - so the "old lady craft" is FAR from the truth) and have never seen a quilled skull. Thanks for making one quilled!
